2018 was a memorable year; so many ups and downs. Would like to thank my parents, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances helping me grow as a person and the eternal support! As we start the new year, wanted to recap and share my personal lessons of what I learned last year.

Lessons I learned from 2018:

1. Go Solo

“People that learn to control their lives are way more happy and successful than those who allow themselves to be controlled by life”

Spend time with people as much as possible but do spend the equal amount of time with yourself. At the end of the day, you have to realize everyone has their own path. Learn to walk alone, fight alone, and be alone. Create your own path, legacy, and leave a trail for others. If you want your life to go the way you WANT; you need to have alone time to reflect, choose and act upon it.

“Being alone has a power very few can handle”

2. Say “HELLO” to your friend — Time

“The biggest mistake is you think you have time” — Buddha

One of the most guilty feelings in the world is coming to a certain point in life and you realize looking back that you could have used the time more productively and have accomplished more. Everyone gets 24 hrs!

“Difference between Oprah and a person who is broke is that Oprah uses her 24 hours wisely”

If you can make a 24 hour schedule every day for the rest of your career that's all you need! Think about how much cool shit you can do in 24 hours? Don’t waste your time regretting about the time you wasted. That's why Tomorrow exists! You learn from yesterday, you make tomorrow better. Realization is the key, now the plan is to take an action. We all don’t know how long we live so make yourself busy so you don’t have look at the time constantly, and make sure you work your ass off until you are finished what you started that day and go to sleep with a proud moment that you have accomplished something!

3. Be Conscious

“Consciousness is the birthplace of change.”

Make conscious thoughts and BE CONSCIOUS! From the time you wake up and sleep well all make conscious/unconscious decisions. Let's be real, most of us make unconscious decisions. Want to have a good future? Then consciously take day to day actions and choose your destiny. Know what you are doing, why you are doing it and ask yourself “is it necessary”? Think twice before you make decisions.

If you are confused on what choices to make in life: DO WHAT’S RIGHT.

Even if you don’t like what you are doing if you think its best for you then DO IT. Embrace the new change. Don’t let your brain be on auto-pilot mode all the time. Take a second to realize your surroundings, become aware, question everything, analyze and take action.

5. Know what you are hungry for

“Last name HUNGRY, first name ALWAYS”

Find your passion, look for something that will make you wake up every day and start working on it. I know it's not easy, but be patient; it will come to you! But —

Don’t settle until you know what you are hungry for.

Go out, discover, chill with other people, research, breath in different ideas, experiment, fail and fail harder. But once you find out you are doing what you love; you will find yourself hustling, having sleepless nights, and not care about what others think, you feel more valuable and you will find yourself Unstoppable.

6. Life isn’t about competition, it’s about cooperation. We rise by lifting others

Still thinking of getting ahead of your classmates, peers, neighbors, friends or colleagues? You will not achieve anything but unhealthy relationships.
Instead, spend the energy looking up to your mentors, managers, and ask them questions. Don’t be afraid of asking!

“He who asks a question remains a fool for five minutes. He who does not ask remains a fool forever.”

After you spend time learning, then come back to your peers; share your experiences, teach them EVERYTHING if they are willing to listen. Help them grow as you do for yourself.

“Helping others will give you a sense of purpose and satisfaction.”

7. Relationships

“Before you enter a relationship, make sure you are balanced and centered, so you know what you want and what you deserve.
Loving yourself changes who you attract” — Idil Ahmed

I never had a relationship and to be honest I am not ready for any relationships. It’s a huge responsibility! I just started to get to know myself and to be able to be balanced and centered? It will take me some time!

So its time to get to work, get ready and build an empire for my parents and future family.
